Boeing's delivery of F-15SG (F-15E Strike Eagle) jets to Singapore, 2017
Initial Background Research 1. We first did a general search on Google on the F-15 variants, and decided to work on research on the wing's structure of them. 2. As we needed to specify the model we wish to research on, we asked ChatGPT several prompts that helped us through our research: - "Fighter Jet wing types"
- "F-15E Wing Materials and Functions"
- "F-15E Wing Design News"
3. Initially, we made use of the NASA Technical Reports Server, along with the Aerospace Research Central website in order to gain a deeper understanding on the F-15E Strike Eagle's wing design. On the server, reviewed and explored detailed articles, journals and technical reports for more information on the structural design, aerodynamic principals and functional capabilities of the F-15E's wings. 4. With that, we sourced for multiple general articles on Google for more information on the wing's structure, materials, dimensions, versatility, special features, and maintenance, and created a Google Doc where we stored article links and overviews for easier referencing. 5. Pros and cons, along with comparisons of the F-15E's wing structure to other fighter jet models were added into the Google Docs, allowing for further discussion. 6. Discussions on what we sourced and researched on were further backed up with newer online articles we found online on Google, providing important insights into how its wing design elements impact the aircraft's performance as a multirole fighter jet, particularly in its versatility in air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, as well as its maneuverability capabilities. 7. The research was compiled in the same Google Doc file and we proceeded to write the summary.
